Impact of Instructional Materials on Students Academic Achievement in Physics in Senior Secondary Schools in Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State
Abstract
The descriptive research design was adapted to determine the impact of Instructional
Materials on Student Academic Achievement in Physics in Some Selected Secondary
Schools in Batagarawa Local Government Area. A simple random sampling was
employed for the selection of six (6) secondary schools out of the twelve (12) secondary
schools in the Local Government Area. The data collected was obtained from both
teachers and the students within the research area, in which the questions are put in
such a way that the significant difference between the instructional materials and
student’s academic achievement should be determined, where the questions are being
analysed using two procedure that is the percentage and the t-test. The finding
revealed that instructional materials have positive effects on students’ academic
achievement in physics. Among other recommendations, it was suggested that
workshop and in-service training, seminars should be organized to enable teachers to
update their knowledge and skills on the application of instructional materials in their
respective schools.
