Towards Ensuring an Inclusive Day Care Childhood Education
Inclusive daycare childhood education implies the provision of education that
would ensure the successful transition of all children from home to primary
school. For this to be achieved, the special learning needs of all categories of
children must be considered as both children with and without visible disabilities
have access to regular daycare settings. This paper looked at the definition of
early childhood inclusion vis-à-vis early childhood education. The paper also
outlines the objectives of early childhood education as stipulated by the National
Policy on Education. Benefits of inclusive day care and the role of
teachers/caregivers as well as ways of planning a successful implementation of
early childhood inclusion was also discussed.
