ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS NEED OF METAL-WORK TRADES STUDENTS IN TECHNICAL COLLEGES IN NORTH –EAST, NIGERIA

Abstract

This study examined the entrepreneurial skills need of metal work trades students in technical colleges in North –East, Nigeria. Two specific objectives and corresponding research questions guided the study. The study employed survey research design. There was no sampling. The entire population of 161 was used. Structured questionnaire was used to gather information. The data obtained for the study were analyzed using mean and standard deviation was used to answer the research questions. The result showed that all the 40 metal works skills and 10 entrepreneurial skills identified by the researcher were needed government should provide infrastructure needed for teaching of the skills identified. It was also recommended that curriculum planners and policy makers should include machining skills, welding and fabrication skills among others.
