ENHANCING QUALITY OF A TEACHER AND CHALLENGES IN THE TEACHING PROFESSION

Abstract

The quality of any nation's educational system is more evidently seen in the quality of its teachers who are deeply involved in transfer of knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to the learners, beginning from the lowest level of primary to tertiary level of the educational system. Teacher education is aimed at producing highly motivated and conscientious teachers who will handle the students toward achieving the nation's educational objectives.
